Save the Date for Further Conference 2025: May 16-17, 2025
Our 2024 Conference was a wonderful time of hearing God's Word, praising Him, and fellowshipping with one another. You can listen to the sessions on Farmington Avenue Baptist Church's podcast.
If you had to describe your prayer life in one word, what word would you choose?
Struggling? Powerful?

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
1 John 5:14-15 (ESV) |
Because God is faithful, we can pray confidently. We invite you to join us for the Further Conference 2024: “Confident Prayers, Faithful God”, where we will learn to pray confidently, not because we are strong, but because our God is faithful.

Young adults under 40 are invited to join us in West Hartford, CT for two days of rich, practical teaching, vibrant singing, and encouraging fellowship.
Speaker for Further Conference 2024: Zach Sparkman
Zach Sparkman grew up in New Hampshire as the oldest of four siblings. The Lord saved him at an early age through the influence of his parents. He was called into ministry his senior year of high school and served in the local church, at camp and in campus ministry throughout his young adult years.
He met his wife, Kate, at camp, and they were married in 2013. In 2016 they moved to Colorado to join the church staff at Red Rocks Baptist Church. Zach served as an assistant pastor for 6 years before being called to be the lead pastor in late 2022. He holds a Master of Divinity and Masters in Theology, and he loves to see the Lord grow His people through the Word. Zach and Kate have three boys: Zane, Xander, and Knox, with one more boy, Zion, in heaven. Their family loves to hike in the mountains of Colorado, play all kinds of sports, read lots of books, and drink expensive coffee. |
Session Topics
Session 1: "Praying According to the Will of God"
Is it even possible to have a confident prayer life? Yes! It will take a shift in perspective, a change in view, a transformation of heart. It is possible to be confident in prayer, but only when we base our confidence in the Lord, not ourselves.
Session 2: "Obstacles to Answered Prayer"
Are there ever times when God refuses to hear us? Yes. If God isn’t listening to us, does that affect our confidence? Yes again. Scripture points out eight obstacles to receiving answers to prayer.
Session 3: "Tools of the Trade"
The more equipped we are with the “tools” of prayer, the more confidently we will be able to pray.
Session 4: "God's Posture toward Our Prayers"
When we understand God’s posture towards us, prayer becomes easier. The Trinity’s posture toward us as we pray grants us immense confidence. What a blessing it is to realize that all three members of the Godhead are at work in our prayers, and each has a different role. What do they do?
